Hi Mercy, this is such a great post! I am a furr-mom of two active jack russell terriers and my husband is a marathon trainer and will often take the dogs out on long runs up to 15K max. A back pack for water and a cold cloth to keep back wet and cool would be great. I had not heard of a dog backpack for smaller dogs, not sure why but I think it is because I have mainly seen them for larger dogs. I really appreciate this information and will look further into the ones you have recommended.

I’ve never heard of dog backpacks before, but I think they would be great when walking our German Shepherds! I like the fact that the Kurgo is lightweight, but the Ruffwear looks like the one that would last the longest. We walk the dogs through a wooded area with hills, do you have a recommendation which one of those would be better?

This is pretty cool, i never considered getting one of these….my dog is a giant mud splashing hog though, i’m pretty sure he’d spend his time rolling all over one of these. But a very cool concept!

    Thanks for sharing.
